Solo Show at Westgate Studios, Wakefield

I am having a ONE NIGHT ONLY solo show at Westgate Studios in Wakefield as part of the Wakefield Art Walk

I will be showing new collage works, all of this year's #tweetart and a new piece Ineffective Distractions.

I am told, there will be a bar. More than enough reason to come and have a gander.

The address is

neo:printprize 2012 Finalist

hey, remember when I did all that printmaking and all I got out of it was that lousy degree and all that life-crippling debt?
Well, the piece I made for my degree show I thought I would enter into the neo:printprize because I am a glutton for punishment and nagging self-doubt.

My work will be up on the wall at neo:gallery22, Bolton until the 28th October
How lovely!

Press Release

"Over 400 entries were received from all corners of the UK and from artists working across the whole range of print media. The quality of the diverse and vibrant entries really impressed the judges: Sean Rorke, Artistic Director of the prestigious Hot Bed Press print workshop and studios, Salford, Manchester and Tim Dolphin, the former Head of Printmaking at Manchester Metropolitan University, who very kindly donated their time and professional expertise to make the competition possible.
The neo:printprize is part of a whole series of high profile exhibitions that have been planned by Bolton based neo:studios, a not-for-profit artist led organisation founded in 2007. With the success of the previous neo:artprize still fixed firmly in peoples minds neo: looks set to succeed again.
neo:printprize is an open exhibition inviting work from artists of all ages and nationalities who practice contemporary visual art in the UK and intends to raise awareness of new trends and directions in printmaking by showcasing excellence and innovation in contemporary British printmaking. The independent jury, who also award the main prizes, select works anonymously from an open submission. The prize aims provide a platform for artists and to bring to Bolton the best contemporary art from across the UK.
An exhibition showcasing the work of all the final shortlisted artists will be held in the exciting neo:gallery22, The Market Place Shopping Centre, Bolton, opening Thursday 13th September. An Award Ceremony will also be held in the gallery Saturday 15th September at 2pm, all welcome! The exhibition continues to Sunday 28th October, viewing times Thurs – Sun, 11am – 5pm."
