I made a repeat pattern, inspired by camouflage 

 Four sheets of balsa wood, which I covered with my pattern, over 200 pieces to push out 

near completely indecipherable instructions, due to the kit being a 'puzzle'

Lino Printing Workshop - The Result

Last Thursday's lino workshop at MMU was great fun, i hope everyone enjoyed themselves.

I wasn't allowed to give tuition in the actual print room, however, the prints I saw pulled from the blocks that were printed looked fantastic.

I started cutting my own block during the session, it was a good incentive to start my roadkill project. 

Just need to get on a press!

Dartmoor Arts Week 2011 2

I used my collage of Heston Blumenthal as the starting point for my design

It became apparent very quickly that, due to my lack of experience, I would be unable to achieve the tight, thin lines that the design required.

I made the decision to enlarge a portion of the image and use this as the design, this made the slab look a little like a piece of a larger work and also abstracted the image.

Initially I chose a slab onto which I wanted to carve a relief pattern, that might also be used as a printing block.
